My son has a 1995 Mazda 121. On Friday night he was driving, suddenly the radio cut out, the lights went dim and the car stopped and wouldn't restart. We jump started it, he drove about 20km OK. Next day, he drove a few kilometers and the same thing happened again. It'll start up and run for maybe few minutes and then the lights will start flickering and within a minute or two the car stops and won't restart. The battery light flickers when the car is idling, but goes out when revved. Any help would be appreciated.
I was thinking it was possibly the alternator. We bought a brand new battery on Saturday, but the same thing happened again today - flickering lights, battery charging light comes on and then it conks out.
