I have a 1988 mazda rx-7 and its stalling out during cornering. The car just got refinished last week its in excellent condition and by no means a beater but i do however drive this car pretty hard. I know its not the rotars i had a mechanic check it out and said on a normal driving circumstance the car runs and drives excellent. But when i drive the car i like to slide corners and beat on it some its rear wheel drive and just honestly a fun car. When im out drifting and having fun with friends the car has some issues. Typically on the mountain roads i try to stay in second gear most the time and when i come to the corners that are fun to slide around i will push the clutch in use some e brake and pop the clutch out while the car is at about 7,000 RPM and the car will stall. Im coming into corners at about 40 mph most the time. i can do donuts from a dead stop then dump the clutch out into first gear and it will do donuts fine no stalling. Could it be the fuel injectors? or fuel pump? also when i go out on these adventures i typically only put in about 3 to 4 gallons of gas at a time. Is it possibe when i come into sharp corners fast the gas shifts and during the rpm rise before the clutch is let back out the engine sucks all the fuel in the fuel lines up and then just sucks in air from the tank cause no gas is there cause it had shifted over during a hard turn? I have not tried it on a full tank of fuel yet, but i thought i would ask on here anyway to see if anyone had or is having these same issues! Sorry its so long any guesses, thoughts or answers would be great! Thanks

I wish I was 19 again. I learned to drive in the mountains of West Virginia in a standard car and back then in 1966, we had nothing but six cylinder and V8 engines and talking about popping clutches and curves where you meet yourself on the way back! The best way to learn to drive and I do mean DRIVE! I still remember speed being the almost seductive thing I've ever felt. How I survived that period of time, God only knows. I must have had three angels traveling with me.

My boyfriend who is my husband of 41 years once tried kissing all the way from Logan to Man -- that's 12 of the scariest road you'll ever drive, a road carved out of the side of a mountain and just as steep a drop below. We survived the drive, somehow and the kiss. :>)

Sorry I couldn't answer your question but I'm glad you asked it because it made this little ol' lady from West Virginia feel like I'm seveteen again. I'm sending you a big ol Mountaineer thank YOU!
