McCain's astonishment and expression of Katrina as disgraceful- Your comments?

He expressed disgraceful- remark today, was he that innocent or ignorant, or a nipple suckling baby of 6 months old?- all these years. He supported Iraq WAR along with his colleague all these years, doesn't he know the hardship of fellow Americans sufferings, subject to the same colleague, mummifying them alive with formaldehyde shacks, without assisting their insurance. Or is he playing that innocence Politician to the same fellow Americans for their Vote today.
 
Dude, your a moron. America actually responded very quickly to hurricane katrina unlike many people realize.
 
New Orleans has been in devastation for years...ever since Katrina hit. What is shameful is that anyone would make some speech there and talk about 'never again' and 'disgracefulness' on the part of the current administration towards New Orleans.....yet McCain hasn't visited New Orleans in all this time. Why is it only now an issue to him? Just like the Bush admin....he wants to do a photo op and pretend he cares....just long enough to get people to support him. Just as he did in Iraq...where he was able to walk through a market (peacufully)......only that market was heavily guarded and it has since been verified that everyone was on high alert and they only walked a few steps before returning to their heavily armored vehicles.....vehicles our soldiers don't have. Pathetic.
 
The state and local authorities bungled the planning process so badly that the federal government had to do it all. The federal government is a huge, bloated bureaucracy so one cannot expect much. However, given the state and local fumbling, I doubt that McCain or any other President could have done better - just too much red tape. Like most politicians who are not radical liberals, he does care but he also needs votes and one has to show how one is different then the other guy to get them. This was a two-birds, one stone thing.

It is not the Federal Government's responsibility to respond to an emergency, it is the State and Local authorities responsibility.

FEMA assists the state and local, and when then can, days after the event, starts assisting local people. They also assist the local authorities with the ability to obtain supplies from suppliers everywhere.

Plus, people don't remember that 18 wheelers don't swim well. If the water is 8 feet deep, and the local people can't get in, how did anyone expect FEMA to do what no one else could?
