Mechanic Opinions on the 2004 Chrysler 2.4L Engine?

I know that the 2.7L engine has numerous problems with sludge and other thins, so I told myself that if I get a sebring/stratus (which I really like) it will be a 2.4L Engine.

What are some opinions on the 2.4L versus the 2.7? Or just the 2.4 in general.
