I have a friend from South America that I have been talking to for two years online. We've talked before with him using a webcam, so I know that he's the age he says he is, etc. Anyways, I'm going to South America in the fall, and I was hoping to maybe meet him in person. It's not an "I'm interested in him" thing, I'm just curious to actually meet him as a friend since we get along well online. We're both strong Christians, so it's not going to end up being a hook up or anything like that... Also, in the two years that we have been friends, he has never once made any inappropriate or disrespectful comment to me, or hit on me, or anything of the kind. I really do think that he is who he says he is. I still just feel wierd meeting an "online friend", you hear so many stories. Do you think this is a good idea or should I just not tell him I'm planning a trip and leave it? Also, has anyone else had an experience like this, and how did it turn out? Thanks! Looking forward to your answers
Also, I am 23, and travelling alone.
