Mercedes-Benz interior lights won't go off?

I have a '98 C-280 and just this week the interior lights won't turn off after about 10 seconds. Also the ignition alarm (the one that lets you know the key is still in the ignition) goes off when I shut off the engine. For all intents and purposes this means the car "thinks" a door is open. It looks like the spring loaded buttons on one or more of the door jams is not engaging. Is that an expensive fix? (expensive for a Mercedes, that is.)
 
Have you tried pushing the door control switches in & out a few times to find out which switch is the problem switch. If you can find out which switch is the culprit it will not cost as much to repair there is a good chance the problem is only a wire. An auto electrician should solve your worry fairly quick once you know.
