Miguel Cabrera is moving to third base this season for the Detroit Tigers to make room for Prince Fielder. That move hasn’t gone smoothly in spring training because Miguel Cabrera suffered a broken bone under his right eye while trying to field a grounder.
At first, the Tigers were worried that Cabrera was going to be out for an extended period of time. However, they received good news today: Cabrera has been cleared to play.
“That’s not good news,” said Jim Leyland, manager of the Tigers. “That’s great news.”
While Prince Fielder is going to swing a hot bat in Detroit, he’ll be the team’s second best hitter. Cabrera isn’t just the best hitter on the Tigers, he might be the best hitter alive. Last season, the native of Venezuela hit .344 with 30 homers and 105 RBIs.
In fantasy baseball, Miguel Cabrera is much more valuable because he’ll be at third base.
