Marcus was texting Dayzee. It was the night before their wedding. He felt a bump like he hit something, pulled over and found Anthony(the homeless man that Dayzee is very good friends with) laying in the road. He assumed that he ran him over. He was even arrested for it.
Thomas and Caroline went to pick up Marcus' car from the impound lot and as they were driving it home, they felt like they hit something. They pulled over and looked and found that they hit a pothole. It was the exact spot where Anthony was hit. They were able to find surveillance video of Anthony's hit and run accident. Some random car hit Anthony and sped off.... then along came Marcus and hit the pothole... which was right next to where Anthony was laying in the road. Marcus only thought he hit Anthony because he was looking down at his phone texting... so he never saw Anthony in the road or the pothole.
