Ok i have a 1989 Mitsubishi 3.0 liter V6 engine with a oil leak that is extensive. Mechanics claim it may take a full engine rebuild. Im hoping for another answer and have asked multiple mechanics for the solution if anyone has any mechanic experience it would help alot with possible ideas on what to do which wouldnt cost me hundreds/thousands of dollars for a oil leak fix.

Depends where its leaking from, best thing to do is use a engine de greaser, brake clean works too and clean up the area best as possible and watch to see where its coming from other than that its a needle in the hay stack on here because you have not even described anything about the leak or wheres its at.

I had a similar 3.0 that also had a major rear main seal leak.I added a supplement from the auto parts store that is made to swell and soften the rubber seals. It took a few days to work but when it did,the oil leaks were totally stopped and didn't leak again over the next couple years. For $5,it was amazing and I don't care what anyone says,it is the easiest and cheapest way to fix many seals.
