I'm car shopping.
So I live in Florida. (Just so you know the kind of weather)
And I'm 17.
I got my liscence a few months ago.
So of course I'm looking for a car.
My dad said my budget would be around 3,500.
I've looked on craigslist and looked for all kinds of cars.
I really wanted a Honda Civic Coupe 2002.
But it's 500 more.
So I was thinking what about a jeep cherokee or a mitsubishi galant ?
I like the mitsubishi, it looks good, and from what I've read in reviews its pretty good. The only thing everyone says is bad is the back seat is crammed. But what do I care if the car is for me to drive? Im going to be in the front seat and its for me to go to school, work and church.
I looked up a Mitsubishi Galant 2001-2002 and I saw many people selling the car in my price range and even cheaper.
Well actually, almost all of them were being sold for that price range.
Is it worth the deal?
For a teenager (female) looking to pay good gas and not too high insurance?
Can I get a few reviews please???
And opinions?

Hi Car Shopping!
The cool thing about Mits is, they're the unknown underdog, IMHO. Look into their history, and you'll see a long stretch of cool offerings.
The Galant...well, if you look it up on Wikipedia, has a long heritage, and some of the models are highly coveted to this day, and are regarded as being some of the pioneers of the 4-wheel (drive, ABS, steering, traction control, suspension).
The model you may be interested in was more than likely assembled in the U.S.A. Most other models are built in Japan. I've heard very few problems with them; most of them minor noise or cosmetic annoyances more than anything. Please make sure that the vehicle was properly maintained. This is critical. Changing oil on a regular basis is one of the main things one can do to ensure that one of the main components is cared for properly!
I'm pretty sure that the Galant was offered with a V-6 and a 4-Cylinder. If that made very little sense to you, then you may want to educate yourself on which one it has. Apparently, they came, in the 8th Generation (1996-2003) with a 2.0 4 Cylinder, a 2.0 V6, a 2.5 V6 Twin Turbo, AND a 3.0 V6.
So, now that I may or may not have your attention, you may be looking at a potential "sleeper", whereas the car you are driving looks plain, and relatively ordinary (but kinda cool at the same time) yet HAULS ASS. So be on the lookout, and above all, educate yourself.
Nothing wrong with Civics, but the market commands a price for them. Mitsubishi's kinda fall under the wire in this respect.
I own a 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander. Amazing. Love the truck.
Also own a 1992 "Plymouth" Colt A.K.A Mitsubishi Mirage. 1.5L 4 Cylinder. Goes like stink. Love It.
Oh!! Also, look for ugly paint, or an ugly dent...that'll usually bring the price of a vehicle down or, alternatively, can be used as bargaining leverage.Plus, the G-Ride'll no doubt be a 4-door, and maybe depending on the Insurance Co. (sorry dude, live in Canada, so I can't say for exact sure) it might be cheaper than an Eclipse or Integra OR Civic (most easily stolen car *ahem*)
All the best.
Hope this helps!
Cheers!
J.
