So my Husband and I have lived in this apt. for a year and a half now, and this is what our living/dining area looks like:

Deep down, my true style is simple, cool, artsy, and modern--like pottery barn, pier 1, etc. I sometimes feel that we bought all this stuff because it was cheaper--not because we were in love with it. What are some LITTLE things I can do with this room that will give it the modern classy feel i'm looking for? What can I take away? Buy and add? Pillows? PS: I can't change the color of the walls--(landlord says) and I can't get rid of the couches or tables (brand new--would be a shame.)
Please help, all you decorating gurus out there! I want people to walk in and be impressed! Feel free to include links of products I can buy online too. Thanks.
