Moms! Our family needs a vacation.. best places to go in US with a 1 year...

...+ a few month old? It's just going to be my husband and I with our daughter who at the time will be a about a year and a few months old at the time (planning trip sometime in April-June). Where should we go that a little one would fully enjoy as well as us?? Where have you been?

We live in the midwest so beaches are always fun.. but spending a week in a hotel and only having the beach to go to? Is that really worth the expense? Obviously we want to save Disney Land/World for when shes a little older.. and no, there is no option to bring a babysitter.. =/

I could use your ideas! What did you do on your family vacation with a little one? Any regrets?

Where should we go? Staying inside the US.
That's a Great idea!! We went on a cruise a few years back and Loved it! I completely forgot they have sitters on board! Thanks!
 
Have you ever thought of a cruise? It is about $1,000 for a family of 4 to go and it includes room/board, activities and food. Plus they watch your kids for you, lol
 
You don’t want to stay in a hotel- too small and expensive. Get a townhome or condo where it feels more like home and you’ve got a kitchen to do your own cooking. Much better vaca and it’ll save you money too. I like the site vrbo.com. I have a condo on there, but it’s in the Bahamas. Save money by finding something within 5 hrs driving time. That way- no airline tickets, no dealing with busy airports. And you won’t have to rent a car! I don’t know what all is out in the Midwest- I’m down in the South and we always drive to the beach!! A smaller amusement park? A cabin at a state park? Condo on a lake?
