...coincidence, genetics or black culture? I'd say it is a combination of genetics and black culture. Let me elaborate.

Genetics: Blacks are 10% of the population of America but 90% of the prison population. It is clear that they are genetically predisposed to violence. Black males show violent aggression from a young age and this has nothing to do with culture.


Black culture: We all know about misogyntistic phrases in rap music and in black communities in general. Phrases like "pimp slap that ho", "Keep the pimp hand strong", "I got ho's in different area codes" etc.
 
I agree with The Wild Party and MG, race has little to do with crime, most people are criminals at heart and would do all sorts of things if they thought they could get away with it. Just look at abortion or homosexuality for Christs sake, before it became legal most people wouldn't even hear of such a thing. It is very difficult for any class of people to make ends meet whether they are honest at heart or not in this society. The type of crimes people commit are mainly based upon class, not race, that is why the ones at the very top, like the president, are exempt from the same laws as the peasants. Most people are criminally minded that is a fact, and it is due to the corruptness and greed of the people that lead this country. They have created this stigma to take attention away from the true problems in this country and keep us bickering about nonsense, that is why you mainly see black crime posted on t.v. but hardly ever see the crimes committed by the most wealthy and powerful plastered all over the news. ;-)
