Hi, I'm a teenager and I don't even have my license yet, but I will in a month or two.
My friend is saving up for a motorcycle, about $4k, but he told me his was middle of the road, pretty good bike. I'd like to get a motorcycle, but is it possible to get one for less than $1500? Even <$1000? I know I wouldn't get a Harley or a BMW for this price, but could I pick up a solid used bike for that price?

And now other costs. How much will motorcycle insurance cost me a year? I'm a teenage boy(ouch, but I'll get the good grade discount, if they have one). Regular car insurance won't cover motorcycles, right? And I've heard motorcycles get exceptional gas mileage, is that true?
How long will it take me to get a motorcycle license after I get my drivers license, its not expensive is it?
Can I really get a good used bike for <$1500? Where should I look?
Anything else I should know, being a complete noob?
