Hey!

I was thinking about getting my father the Motorola Xoom tablet for Christmas. However, I'd like to get it without a phone plan from, let's just say Verizon.

Is it possible to connect to the internet without buying it through somewhere like Verizon? How would this work? Details please!

Edit:
I do have Verizon, but it would cost more money to put it on the plan and I'd rather get it without it.

Best Buy does have the Motorola Xoom. However it requires that you are near a Wi-Fi hotspot location such as Starbucks, McDonalds, airports, hotels, restaurants, libraries, or through your home network so you can get unlimited internet access on the tablet. If you are not near a Wi-Fi area then you don't have internet connection.

With this tablet, no data contract is required. Best Buy has it for 359.00.
