This is driving me crazy. I saw this movie. It had to have been released in either the 40s or 50s. It was about this guy who was in love with a married woman. He devised a plan to kill her husband and plead temporary insanity. He practiced a lying routine so much so he could pass a lied detedtion machine. He thought that he would ony get a few months or at most a year in the insane asylum and would be released and then he and the woman he love (now widowed) could get her inheritance money and leave the US. Somehow it all went wrong. He was not release. The widow fell in love with another guy and he finally did goe insane. Help me, what was the title.
