I am very confused with the detail going into the type of visa I should get when I am moving to USA (Wisconsin- Madison) from Canada. I currently have a partner of 3 years (currently not engaged) down in the States and we both hold University Degrees. I hold a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and currently working as an ER full time & ICU part time nurse. I also wish to do my DNP (Doctorate of Nursing Practice) down in the states within the coming year so I am not sure which visa I am required to get if I wish to stay long term or permanently: TN free trade professional, H-1 temporary professional worker, Student visa, H-1C Nurses in health professional shortage areas? It's very likely I would want to be a permanent resident and maybe a citizen of the States, if my partner doesn't want to live in Canada (still praying lol). Any guidance into the visa I should be researching will be greatly appricated.
