I noticed it about 10 days ago, when the temp gage rose slightly (10-15 degrees) on a trip. Once I got home I topped up my coolant, and the very next day my low coolant light came on and I topped up a couple more times only to have the same thing happen each time.
During that time I would watch the temp gage and It would rise 50-70 degrees in like 30 seconds and then drop back down. This leads me to believe it is the water pump/thermostat because I had a small belt squeak start about 2 month before all of this.
I inspected my engine and found out:
1. The coolant is coming out of the overflow hose
2. The oil appears normal (No milky look)
3. The coolant appears normal
4. No bubbles/bubbling noises coming from the reserve tank
5. No white smoke or water coming from the tailpipe
6. The fans wouldn't come on (It also doesn't seem to overheat when I'm idling
7. It occasionally makes a small soft clanking sound (Even just after the engine is shut off
I plan to have a mechanic look at soon as I have time and money.
