My 1990 Cadillac Fleetwood trunk will not close!?! Help Please!?

I may have shut the trunk too hard? The mechanism to the trunk will not latch to the hook on the trunk. Any troubleshooting that I could do?
 
Does it have the auto close feature. If so, check the fuse. Good luck.
