my 2yr. old has little splinters of wood all in his legs & arms! how should

i remove them? he slide down a big wood board out side and now there's like 20 little splinters in just one spot. it looks like he has hair on his leg! i dont want them to go deeper! what should i do? there not really buggin him but it looks red like a rash!
