vacation. She was there for almost 8 day? She was there for about 8 days. Since she has returned she refuses to eat, she just nibbles and is back to sleep. We took her to a vet who gave her some med to increase her intake but it does not seem to work. She isn't drinking a lot of water either. We are vegetarians and the kennel owners had fed her chicken, but they said that she didn't eat well there either and she just had bits of chicken, so they fed her curd and rice which is her favorite food.
She usually has boiled carrots and green beans and some curd and rice along with some Royal Canine.
Is she so used to the chicken flavor that her usual food seems unappealing? Help pls!!!

Kenneling can be a very stressful time for a dog, and it is common for dogs to lose weight while being boarded (not that it is normally due to any fault of the boarding kennel operators)

Can you try feeding her chicken and see how she goes? Normally chicken is a good food to give to dogs with an upset stomach.

Beans and carrots have limited nutritional value for dogs, and rice isn't really that good for them either. Dogs are carnivores and do best on a meat based diet.
Rice and lightly cooked chicken can be good for dogs with an upset stomach, though.

It would also be worthwhile getting her checked over by a vet. It is possible that she could have picked up parasites, like worms, particularly if she has not been regularly treated for them. Worms are a common cause of death in young puppies if infestations get bad, and they certainly have an impact on your pup's health. An infestation might make your pup lethargic and would put her off her food (believe it or not)
 
Dogs are carnivores, they may 'tolerate' veggies and fruits but have no real need for them, the only kind of vegetation that may be necessary is a little grass, but if your dog has access to grass in the yard it does not need to be added to the diet.

I would suggest putting your dog on a raw diet and stop feeding her indigestible food. Royal Canin is alright, but foods like Orijen, Wellness CORE, Taste Of The Wild, Blue Wilderness etc are better.

Dogs are anatomically the same, it has been scientifically proven that even a dogs DNA is 99.8% the same a a wolf, and wolves are carnivores.
 
She is just upset that you left her and she feels very abandoned. She is depressed that you left and thinks that you'll leave her again. So, to help her, I suggest sitting next to her and talk to her during her eating time. (you might seem a bit nuts, but i think it'll help)
 
Well you're feeding her too much garbage.

Either feed raw, or feed dog food. Don't do both. You're giving her too much of the good stuff, she's being PICKY, she isn't sick.

Give her dog food, leave it down for 15 min. If she doesn't eat it within 15 min, put it up and give it to her again at the next meal. She will learn to eat. She will eat when she's hungry.
