and its residue is all over my hands and my remote control.
There's like white icky stuff around the inside surface of the cap.
and the batteries liquid/fluid crap is all over my remote and its on my floor.. how do I clean this mess up? YES, I threw away the batteries.
Are you sure its safe to do that?

I mean I went to alot of different websites but they gave all sorts of different instructions and LOTS of chemical/chemisty knowledge is needed.. like WTF? and yeeeahh.. they said not to to touch the liquid crap.. but idk just trying to make sure..
The batteries that leaked are regular AA Energizer Batteries.. IDK, I just picked up my remote to turn on the TV and all of sudden my remote control has this wet nasty feel to it. I too the cap off to see the batteries and there it was. x__X. (I'm a teen by the way)
Can anyone provide step by step instructions. I left my remote on the floor. (Hard wood flooring so no carpet mess)

You need to be more careful, how on Earth did you let it get all over your hands and everything, have you got poor eye-hand coordination?
You need to decontaminate everything it is on. Try pure alcohol on the carpet, changing paper towels often, You could try to open the remote and wash it out with alcohol also, but don't soak it too long, you just want to rinse it out by drizzling the fluid through the innards, don't collect and reuse, but do collect the fluid in a container, then bottle it with something absorbent, and place in the trash. Maybe better, even mandatory, if you have children to just cut out the carpet and throw anything contaminated in the trash, but remember to encapsulate it to prevent release into the environment.
Before you attempt anything satisfy yourself that you have as much info as possible, ie: contact the manufacturer of the battery and ask for advice.
