...chilling at the top of his bowl? I don't know what to do. There was one weekend where I forgot to change his water, but before that, I changed it weekly. Before I changed the water after I had forgotten, he was just sitting near the top of his bowl, sometimes with his head slightly sticking out. I changed the water, and he's still like that. He isn't eating, he's just sitting there all day in his tree. He's been doing this for about a week now. Is he sick? Please help, I don't want to lose him.

Bettas belong in 5 gallon heated and filtered tanks with naturally colored gravel and live or silk plants. 25% weekly water changes.

Your betta is lethargic because he's in an improper environment.

He is in a bowl. If you dont want to lose him I suggest upgrading to a 5 gallon filtered and heated tank. Bowls, no matter how much you clean them, are just not a very good place to keep any living creatures.
