my boyfriend didn't make the baseball team, how should i react?

He practiced a ton and was on the team last year but for some reason he didn't make it this year and his friends are saying he's devastated. What should I say or do?

Maybe just let him be..he may need time. If he brings it up maybe discuss with him that it'll be alright and things happen like that. It's pretty upsetting when you work hard and don't get what you worked hard for, but I suppose that's a part of life.
