My brother met a woman at the pool. He is a keen swimmer and got chatting to her and they arranged to go on what he presumed was a 'date'. They had a pleasant evening but he felt afterwards that she was only interested in him as a friend and nothing more.
He didnt hear from her for a while or see her and then I was at the park walking my dog and saw her with a man. They only had eyes for each other and were flirting with each other, sharing icecream and laughing and giggling as they strolled along.
I told my brother about this, suggesting that the reason she only wanted friendship with him was because she was clearly with someone.
A few days later he began to get calls and text messages from the woman asking when they could meet up etc. My brother enjoys her company so agreed to go out with her for the day. She mentioned that she had been busy 'supporting her friend's husband' as their marriage was on the rocks. This time when they went out she wanted to hold my brother's hand and kissed him when the parted at the end of the day.
My brother did not know what to do. After speaking with a mutual friend, the man I saw her with in the park is the same man who is her friend's husband. Isn't it unusual that a friend would support your husband rather than YOU when your marriage is going through a sticky time? I certainly think so.
And they clearly appeared more than friends when I saw them in the park. Do you think she is using my brother to deflect from the fact that something is 'going on' with her friends husband?
My brother likes this woman but he has been hurt so many times. I thought it may be a good idea to get other people's opinions.
Many thanks to all contributors!
