My car has a CD Changer in the boot.. How do I work it?

Ive got my first car which is a fiat punto, and it has a cd changer in the boot, i dont have a clue how it works?! I put discs in and it makes a little noise, like when you first put a dvd in a dvd player, then nothing happens, i dont know how its connected to the front or how to control it/ play it..? Do i need something else? Aah pleasee someone explain, im so confused!
