I have a 1997 chevy suburban 1500 4WD V8 350. I just had a new fuel pump and filter replaced. I just used the heater for the first time and it wont get hot even though it plows out air. I drove over 100 miles so I know it had time to warm up. Is that a coincidence? And is their a simple way to fix it?

First thing to do is look to see if there is a shutoff valve, under the hood
Next,After engine is completely warm, feel the heater hoses to see if they are hot.If not hot, your thermostat is probably stuck open. If they are hot, your heater core is clogged & needs to be replaced.

I know nothing about cars, but I had to but anti-freeze in my car when the heater wouldn't get hot. For some reason I thought anti-freeze made the air conditioner cold, not the heater hot, but it really worked.

run eng till eng is at operation temp then feel heaters hoses to see if they are getting hot if they not you may have a stuck thermostat. if they are hot you may have a blocked heater core or a blend door problem

engine coolant.if low check for leak in water pump
