after thermostat replacement.? I replaced my thermostat recently as the old one was failing to cool properly. I now have the exact opposite problem. I've always allowed my car to warm in the drive on cold days. It seems now though that the my car warms normal but when I begin my commute to work that the engine temperature begins to drop and thus so does the warmth produced by heater. any suggestion on how to correct this?

Replace the thermostat with one that opens up at the temperature you want it to. I think mines 190 degrees.

there are two ranges of thermostat normally depending on country the is built for. eg cold or hot. it may be you have put in the wrong Temperature Range for your environment. A car engine will warm up quicker with a load on it (driving) and produce less pollution than a long idle on a driveway. also if you have your car stolen whilst it is idling without you at the wheel you will not be covered by insurance as its down to negligence then.
