My cat is very mopey. Not like him. He cries when picked up. Walks, eats, poops

& pees. What could b wrong My cat isn't his normal self. He is staying in one spot all day. He cries when moved. He is an indoor/outdoor cat. Hasn't been out in 4 days. I have to put food & water right in front of him for him to eat. I have to pick him up and put him in the litter box. He does go. He isn't playful with the kitten anymore. He, actually, growls at her. He does let us pet him. He walks fine. Nothing with his legs. How do you tell what is wrong? What can a vet tell by just these symptoms? We have an appointment tomorrow.
 
Maybe something is just hurting him inside. My cat actually got a scratch under his belly and it got infected inside. We couldn't see anything but when we picked him up he wold wimper terribly...Took him to the vet..they drained the infection and gave him antibiotics and he is his normal lazy self. Good luck..I hope he gets better.
 
I'm not a vet, so I don't know what a vet can tell. I'd suggest keeping the kitten away from him until the vet has a chance to see him; until then, just keep him warm and hydrated as best you can.
