my cd-dvd rom wont start?

help me, my cd rom wont start up, i put grid in but usually this would make it auto start up, but this time it doesnt, i cant play grid now, plz help
p.s-plz tell me in the easiest way possible

go to control panel- click on device manager -go down to dvd/cd-rom drives click on the +, left click on the bottom cd rom, click uninstall -when it's finish, this will not delete your cd rom,onlythe software,when you reboot your computer,it will find new hardware & it will put your software back on your computer. (ps: close out all windows)
