My CD's/DVD's won't show up whenever I put them in! Help me :(?

I'm using:
Microsoft Windows XP
Media Center edition
Version 2002
'Service Pack 2
Whenever I put a disk in, it makes a sound of spinning, but it doesnt open. When I go to the disk drive, it says it's there but there's nothing on it. :( I tried an Orange box game installation and it didn't work. D: Help!
