I have a Nokia 5130 Xpressmusic. It was OK the last time when i connected my phone to my computer(last time was one month ago). Later, my phone fell into the washing machine. When it was repaired(one month later), i tried to connect my phone to computer via USB. But then my phone says "No response from host."
My computer never responded to my phone! I tried and tried and tried...But my darn computer never detected it. Please help. Should i change another USB cable? Or my computer was lacking some program? Oh yes, before i forget, i ran a full system scan for viruses using Avira Antivir Personal before i connected my phone to the pc. Has this got something to do with this? Pls help. Tq.

Honestly, there are a whole lot of variables involved here.... but to start: if you simply had the water-damaged phone repaired & not replaced then it could be that the phone's ability to "talk" to your Computer was either not repaired/replaced properly, not repairable, or not replaced at all.... here's some more troubleshooting suggestions- 1. yes, try using a different usb cable 2. run a hardware diagnostic on your computer to ensure your usb ports are functioning properly 3. if report comes back ok- plug something else in to verify that they're ok (my old PC had a port that said it was ok but it was a loose connection so if the cable moved at all it would fluctuate between connected & not) 4. try connecting your phone to a different computer (libraries have free access if you don't know anyone willing to let you use theirs) - if it connected to your pc/mac before then it's not a program/app./antivirus problem so if it won't connect to ANY computer then it's time to take it back to your service provider to have them fix it - FOR FREE - again or have it replaced for a small fee (put up a polite fight and the company should work with you). Then again, if you don't feel like doing any more trial & error stuff just take it back in cuz it shouldn't be your computer's fault- unless you washed it too.... just kidding. LOL. 5. Quick question to ask yourself: when you plug in the phone, does it display a notification that it is charging? if so it might just be the cable.
