my computer doesn't read my ipod?

i have an ipod touch and when i connect it to my macbook (w/ leopard) it does not read that it is connected.
itunes doesnt open up, the ipod doesn't update nothing..i've restarted my computer and it still doesnt work. i even tried a different cable to connect it w/ and nothing different happened
anyone got any ideas on what is going on?!

something's wrong w/ ur ipod touch.try update your itunes. if that doesn't work, go to a local apple store and have them fix it. this happens to me twice, the effective way is to have professionals fix it.
