my computer locks up and get realy slow when i connect it to the internet ?

it only gets slow when its connected to the internet and i cant open any programs i try every thing to fix it but nothing has work i down loaded fix-it utilities 9 and did a tone of test and it says there are no viruses

it sounds like it can't find an IP address or Network address or something and it is using all of your resources up finding one???

I like to just pull the plug on my computer. Let it cool off for 2 or 3 days.It seems to work sometimes.

It is not a virus... it is a lack of RAM. When you connect to the internet it automatically ties up RAM slowing down the other system processes.

I would suggest at least 1GB of RAM if you are running anything other than Vista and 3GB if you are running Vista
