...with verizon? My dad upgraded his phone and it just came in the mail today. He hasn't activated it yet.

yes....but it will be expensive if your contract is not up...for every phone number you switch it will be $175 to cancel

If your old phones are with Vz (Verizon) and the new ones are also with Vz, the phone numbers should transfer automatically to the new phones once the new phones are activated. You'll probably have to call Vz and give them the ESN (electronic serial number) of the new phones and which phone number on the account you want to go to which of the new phones.

If your old phones are with another carrier and your new phones are with Vz, you should be able to keep your phone numbers. This is only applicable if your old phones were on a contract in your own name. If your old phones were prepaid and you've switched carriers, you're likely out of luck. The same goes for all (or most) cell phone carriers in the USA.

For other people who have continuing service with AT&T or T-Mobile, then all they need to do is to pull their SIM card out of the old phone and insert it into their new phone. The phone number and account go with the SIM card, not the phone itself (for carriers using GSM technology). It is even possible to store or copy one's phone book in/to the SIM card, permitting one to take one's phone book from one phone to the other!

My bro alwasy does that
i think he swaps the sim,
but the ohines have to take the same sim!!!!

Yes, I think you can do that. All you have to probably do is, keep your own sim cards and put it into your new phones.
