My daughter has had medicaid her entire life. I sent in the re-certification paperwork in November and got a letter back that said it was a decision on her application and just said that if I'm happy with the managed care plan to do nothing and it'll stay the same.
Took her to the dr and was told that her insurance was being denied. Called the managed care plan and they said it got dropped. Called the caseworker and he just called back and said she is not eligible due to her income.
Now when she was a baby the county had taken her father to court in their own interest and ordered him to provide health insurance. To my knowledge he isn't working and doesn't have health insurance, he doesn't see her and I don't speak with him often. I know that every time he gets a job that offers insurance that the county sends me a letter advising that I enroll her in that company's plan and that the county has been garnishing his wages (when he chooses to work) since she was a baby to pay for her health insurance debts. Obviously I'm going to do whatever it takes to make sure my daughter has health insurance, but should I be paying for this out of pocket or is this something that needs to be escalated?
*not eligible due to my income... incorrectly had stated due to her income
