...Why would that happen? Wireless connection. Vista Home Premium.
I turned off the firewall just in case it might be that. No help.
My laptop connects to the same wireless network and DOES access the internet!
It's all compatible. It's been working fine for months. Then just stopped a few hours ago.
when I do an ipconfig/all it shows:
Autoconfiguration.IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 169.254.213.79(Preferred)
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway.....:
does not show values for :
DHCP Server
DNS Servers
When I do an ipconfig/release, it says "The requested operation equires elevation"
When I do an ipconfig/renew, it says:
An error occurred while renewing interface Wireless Network Connection : unable to contact your DNCP server. Request has timed out. No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection while it has its media disconnected.
