My divx burn program no longer works - it says they're successfully burned

in a few seconds, but they're not. I never had any trouble previously, but suddenly it's decided to pay up.
At the same time, my AnyDVD program no longer recognises my CD/DVD drive.
Are these issues connected?
I have tried the divx one patch, but it doesn't work.
