My 6 year old Border Collie has always been a very friendly and happy dog. He has only ever growled at 2 people in his life. They are my little cousin and a friend of mine just today. With my cousin, it had all been fine, they had both been outside together and they had never had any problems before. Then suddenly one day, my dog started growling at her and looking like he was going to attack. Then today, my friend went outside with my dog and my dog was happy and playing and was being great. Then my friend sat down next to him and he suddenly started growling.
The only similarity between the two cases I could find was that my cousin was about the height that put her with having eye contact with my dog and when my friend sat down she also had eye contact. Other than that, I don't understand as both the girls are quiet, good people.
Could anyone give me an idea of why my dog is doing this?
