my dog has a huge sore on his back that never heals, Any info?

The sore gets big flaky crusty scabs on it. The skin is hard and thick under neath, his ears are yeasty and stink like cheese. His bottom lip is always crusty and chaped too. He never heals. His eyes are crusty too. We've been to the vet but they told me they don't know what it is, and charged me a good bit of money to say that. Any one got a yeasty crusty beasty like mine? Whats wrong with him.
 
It sounds like something our dog and cat had and believe it or not we put wd-40 on it and it got better.Good luck
 
Its possible that he has cancer,I hope not but that could be why he is not healing,especially if he is an older dog.
 
you need to get a second opinion. i agree with the person who said thyroid issues
