My dog swallowed a packet of mild taco bell hot sauce. Please help!?

While the packet was in his mouth, he punctured the packet, and swallowed the hot sauce and the plastic packet. This occurred as i chased him and did all I could to get it away. I finally got to him and when i opened his mouth it was too late. I gave him water and he had a good amount. Are thee going to be any negative effects? I'm assuming tummy ache and maybe diarrhea?
this just happened about 20 min ago. He is currently calm. He seems fine. He is asleep I think.
 
Your dog should be fine. Probably just getting the hot sauce out of it's system, but other than that no huge worries.
 
Dogs digestive systems aren't all that strong..or as good as human digestion systems. Your dog may get sick a few times, and diarrhea is definitely possibly. Just give him plenty of water, and make sure you take him out a lot in case he would get diarrhea.

hot sauce might have onion and garlic in it, which are toxic to dogs - but in the sauce it would be in such trace amounts there's no worries.

that said - dogs digestive systems are pretty tough. Dogs eat bones. Dogs eat all kinds of non-food items.

Taco sauce wouldn't even make the Top 10 list of worst things my dogs have swallowed.
