ok.. so here is some more information about her..
she's a little over a year
she hasn't been spayed *yet*. (looking into that)
she gets ALOT of attention
i take her out regularly to go the bathroom
she has food and water in her dish at pretty much all times, so she isnt hungry or thirsty....... so yeah.

It's probably nothing medical. Most dogs whine because of needing attention, though if she's just over a year old her bladder hasn't expanded to her adult size so she might feel some liquid in there and think she has to go to the bathroom again. The biggest reason though will be for attention or fear of abandonment. She may not have yet established the feeling of her place in the "pack" aka your family/home and can be concerned about losing you. My dog had horrible separation anxiety when I first got her a little before a year old and whined constantly, and it was only after I had her a while that she calmed down. That being said, she still whines whenever I leave the house or come back after being gone.

it can be that she is bored. check her whole body touch evey part and if she yelps at a certain point where you touch her then theres a problem, she might be in pain, it wouldn't hurt to call your vet and ask.
hope this helps,
good luck
