My dog was picked up by animal control and now they can't find him. What can i do?

He's a gonner, check the nearby animal shelters. They get transferred from the city to shelters and they (shelter) try to adopt them out if not they put them down. After like 30days..the shelters are overrun by unwanted and lost pets due to the negligent owners.
Sometimes the city workers themselves will take dogs home, so beware if your dog is worth something and is cute. Go in person and investigate if you care about your dog and finding him.
I hope you find your dog and when you do, put better security for your pet and microchip to trace him, and if he ran away because he's looking for a mate if he's not neutered then get it done to prevent him from running off again.
 
The animal catcher says he left him in the drop off box at the pound. But the shelter says they never saw him.
The animal control officer admits to picking him up. He says he dropped him off at the shelter after hours. the shelte says they never saw him. He is a full blooded weimaraner.
He was picked up because he was loose. He had slipped out. I know he was loose but how can they pick my dog up then loose him. They lost him within 24 hrs of picking him up.
 
The first question is, why was he picked up? But is they lost him, they either have to find him, or compensate you for the loss. You can file charges, but if the dog ws running loose there may be nothing you can do.
