my DVD/CD-ROM drive has gone missing!!!?

hi, i was trying to play a game yesterday and i pressed play and it told me the game was inserted, even though it was. I went into my computer to press on the game instead but the actual dvd/cd-rom thing u press on wasnt there??? So basically, when i cant play dvds, cd's, games etc. and now i dont know what to do. I have done everything possible but there is o difference... I went into computer management to see the problem and it said:

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

and i dont know what to do... is there anyway of fixing my problem????

This could very well be a virus's doing. It could also be hardware failure. I would try:

1)Restore your computer from its restore CD(s). (Recommended)
2)Google it up, see if you can replace the drive yourself. (Recommended if #1 fails.)
3)If that fails, send your computer to the company that made it. (Try avoiding this one.)
