My dvd drive is not being read but it opens and all that has lights, Help quick

plzz!!? My dvd drive is not being read but it opens and all that has lights, but wont show in my computer or anywhere as being a drive but i noticed in my computer it had 3 1/2 Floppy drive when mine isnt even hooked up, its in the tower just not hooked up?, i need t burn some movies someone help quick!

Check weather you have any problem in the "System" under "Device Manager" and go from there
Might be a virus; conflict of hardware/drivers; faulty drive...
