My father needs a map software for his laptop?

He is a truck driver and he wants to use the laptop for maps for when he is on the road. So, obviously there are going to be places where he can't get internet access to look at the maps online. I was wondering if there is any software out there. If there is one specifically for truckers then that would be awesome!
