I think its swim bladder is damage, what do I do? I don't want it swimming upside down and starving itself. Someone told me to feed it peas, but I doubt that would work.
ok this might sound crazy but my best friend had a pretty faancy tail gold fish. His name was edgar. And for some reason he started floating upside down. My friend was horrified. She had this fish for a few years and had grown a relationship with him. So she yelled at him and told him he was not aloud to die. she kept messing with him because if she could get him to actually swim he stayed right side up but when he slowed down back up he would go. We all knew he was going to die. But a couple days later he was fine. This ended up happening at least 5 more times. Each time we all thought it was his last. He did eventually die but it was about a year and a half later.
We never really knew what caused it but I always suspected it was because she would over feed him. Every time he would come to the side of the tank and make that fishy face at her she couldn't resist and had to feed him. 3-6 times a day. However she had lots of other fish in the same tank and edgar was the only one that spent days at the top of the tank on his belly.
