My fish is too aggressive?!?

I have a 55 gal. tank with an Oscar who is about 8 inches long and and iridescent shark who is about 10 inches. The Oscar is constantly beating up my shark. Is there anything I can do other then separate them?
 
is it a bala shark? oscars are cichlids and they are aggresive. they will kill your shark if it is not aggresive.
 
either buy another tank and put one of them in the other tank OR put a divider in the middle of the tank
 
I'd call in Victoria, the lady on "It's Me or the Dog." Notice how everybody immediately sits down and shuts up whenever she walks in the room, dogs and people alike? Maybe she has the same effect on fish.
