My friend has crabs, what should I feed them?

My friend got crabs from his girlfriend bu has no idea what to feed them. Can someone tell me how he can keep the crabs for as long as possible?
 
It depends on how long he's had the crabs for. If he's had crabs for 3 years by now they will want to spread. I hope he doesn't have too many crabs, he should probably share his crabs.
