my friend is taking wrestling lessons but thinks the students gossip too much?

Is this how all schools are?
teacher and students gossiping all the time and talking trash against others behind thier backs, and insulting one another?
He just wants to pay and learn but hates the immature bs as he calls it.
So should he look for another school?
he is learning fast but he thinks he is picked on too much.
 
If your friend is really that concerned about immature bs he's in the wrong line of business. Wrestling is all about territoriality, being macho and messing with other people. At the highest levels, he'll have to deal with politics and bullies from people alot smarter and bigger than the people he has to deal with now. Some examples are having to get dressed in the hallways having people sh*t in his gym bag and generally be treated like sh8t until he's paid his dues. After that, it's all clear sailing until he dies of a drug overdose in a Minnesota hotel room like all the greats.
 
Get him into boxing first, and power striking. Shortly after he starts get him into wrestling.
When he's picked on, he could easily take down people with the "tease-worthy" wrestling, and it's just the power strikes from there.

Or just let him do what he wants. The other kids are the gay ones if they think somebody shouldn't do what they like.
